After Effects

After Effects deals with a reality no mother should ever have to experience. Uncompromising, unflinching and unexpected, After Effects confronts young people with choices they have to make.

The Flavasum Trust is proud to have financially supported the production of this remarkable short film by Mark One, a BAFTA award winner. It has been made specifically for use in schools and other venues to engage young people in discussions about knife and gun crime.

Mark funded the film largely at his own expense because his family, too, has been affected by knife crime. Its first screening was provided free of charge by The Hospital in Covent Garden (pictured) and has been shown several times  in Soho.

The next step is the development of a programme in 2011 that can be delivered in schools, supported by the Flavasum Trust and its partner, The Robert Levy Foundation. The aim is to offer facilitated discussions using the film as a catalyst for debate. More details will be posted shortly, but if any school is interested, please contact peter@theflavasumtrust.org.
